A new Spider-Man 4 rumor reveals how Punisher will be able to fight Hulk.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, arrives in United States theaters this July. Directed by Wonder Man and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie will once again see Tom Holland reprise his MCU role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
In addition to Holland, the cast of the movie includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln. Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink, The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas, and Severance’s Tramell Tillman have additionally all been cast in undisclosed roles, though there’s been no shortage of online rumors and speculation regarding who they might be playing.
What is the new Spider-Man 4 rumor?
While official plot details for Brand New Day remain under wraps at this time, there’s also been much chatter about a potential action scene with Hulk, Punisher, and Spider-Man. If some of the online chatter is to be believed, Hulk will go on a rampage at one point in Brand New Day, and Punisher and Spider-Man will have to stop him; although, whether or not they agree on how to stop him remains to be seen.
Should this actually be part of Brand New Day, the obvious question that arises is how Punisher, who doesn’t have any superpowers, could possibly stand a chance in a fight with Hulk.
According to @Majestic_ucm, the answer to that question may have been revealed, as the scooper is reporting that Punisher will steal some technology from the Department of Damage Control (DODC) that will be “effective” in defeating the green goliath.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 4 will be released on July 31, 2026.
