In the ever-changing world of anime, only a few things are constant, and one of them is the fan-made rivalry between Dragon Ball’s Goku and One Punch Man‘s Saitama. While Goku can level entire planets, Saitama can defeat anyone with a single punch. However, Saitama’s time-travel abilities might have tipped the scales in his favor.
In One Punch Man, Garou passed down his imperfect time-travel technique to Saitama. Soon enough, Saitama was able to master it and save his world, an achievement that Goku has not added to his list of triumphs yet.
Time Travel Flips the Scale Between Goku and Saitama
Goku vs Saitama has always been a heated debate topic amongst anime and manga enthusiasts. Both characters are extremely powerful and contenders for the “strongest anime character” spot. On the one hand, Goku keeps growing with every battle, and he could even challenge Beerus, the God of Destruction, and on the other hand, Saitama’s sneeze alone can disintegrate the surface of Jupiter.
For the longest time, it was extremely difficult to know who exactly was the strongest between them. Thankfully, chapter 173 of One Punch Man clears the situation by revealing Saitama’s time travel technique. He was able to replicate Garou’s technique and traveled to the past to avoid any negative consequences.
This feat alone makes Saitama far stronger than Goku. No amount of Ultra Instinct can overpower the ability to time-travel. Although Saitama has only used this technique once, it gives him a far greater advantage.
One Punch Man Anime Will Offer Saitama’s Biggest Power-up Soon

The One Punch Man anime is currently in its third season and is adapting the Monster Association Arc. The anime is already showing the tremendous increase in Garou’s abilities and endurance with each battle. It is the same arc in which Garou will achieve his Cosmic Fear Mode.
In this mode, Garou can manipulate particles within his body and force them to behave like anti-particles. He was not able to master it, but instead passed it on to Saitama, who successfully traveled to the past. He then went on to defeat Garou in a single punch before the villain could appear in front of the heroes in Z-City, effectively avoiding any consequences on the timeline.
Unfortunately, it resulted in Saitama having no memory of the Ominous Future or the time travel technique. This is another absurd addition to Saitama’s feat, which would look legendary when adapted into an anime. While season 3 might not adapt this portion, season 4 might be able to do it.
