No element of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been shrouded in more mystery than that of Sadie Sink and who she might be playing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.

Sink joined Spider-Man: Brand New Day in March 2025 in an undisclosed role. At the time, she was heavily theorized as being the top pick for Jean Grey in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot. While Marvel has yet to confirm her role, multiple scoopers last month all but confirmed that she was playing the fan-favorite mutant in Brand New Day.

What are the new details about Sadie Sink’s Spider-Man 4 character?

Now, Daniel Richtman is claiming on Patreon that Sink’s character has a close relationship with Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. Additionally, during the movie’s tank scene, Sink’s character will control other people’s minds, such as Liza Colón-Zayas’ character, who also remains undisclosed at this time.

Sink’s character’s close relationship with Punisher was previously highlighted in a rumored plot synopsis for Brand New Day last month. The Punisher will reportedly protect Sink’s character from Damage Control.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up after the events of 2021’s No Way Home, which ended with the universe forgetting who Peter Parker was, allowing for the MCU to bring Holland’s Spider-Man closer to his comic book counterpart. Production on the superhero sequel lasted from August to December 2025, with Destin Daniel Cretton in the director’s chair.

Tom Holland is set to make his seventh appearance in the MCU as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Brand New Day. He will be joined by fellow MCU alums Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher.

Tramell Tillman joins Sink and Colón-Zayas as having been cast in an undisclosed role, while Marvin Jones III will portray Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone. He previously voiced the crime boss in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
