Fresh leaks are coming from everywhere about the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, and so far, all of it has been positive. Recently, popuniverseX revealed that they had early game gameplay footage from early 2024, and everything was different compared to the originally revealed remake in 2020.
According to the source, fans can expect a completely overhauled gameplay, and the only thing remaining the same is the story itself. But what’s more fun is that Ubisoft officially confessed it’s a lot better now, compared to the demo from early 2024.

Multiple leaks are suggesting that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will be arriving in January 2026, and things can’t get more exciting. While the remake was announced back in 2020, it didn’t get a warm welcome since it didn’t seem like a remake.
Glad to hear you liked it, even if it wasn’t meant to go out😉. This footage was from a workshop we hosted to get feedback from community members back in early 2024. The game has changed so much since then, and we can’t wait to show it next year.— Prince of Persia™ (@princeofpersia) November 27, 2025
Since then, Ubisoft Montreal took on the mantle and started from the ground up to build the remake. Recently, Ubisoft stated that they conducted a preview for The Sands of Time Remake back in early 2024, and the reception was well-received. That same leak surfaced recently, providing a good indication of what to expect from the upcoming release.
Interestingly, Ubisoft even addressed that the leaks were true, but outdated. The modern version is much better, and the game has evolved. Additionally, they also kind of confirmed that the remake is indeed releasing next year.
Overall, Ubisoft seems confident about the current version of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. All we need to do is wait for a bit and see for ourselves.

Leakers even mentioned that the combat has been remade as well, by mixing old acrobatic attacks with a new advanced combat model. Time powers have also been enhanced to give players more options in battles.
Farah has been revamped as well and will act like a true ally through the entire playthrough as she’s capable of fighting independently. Changes have also been introduced for enemies, and players can expect improved boss fights as well. Overall, the remake is shaping up to be good.
