The show is an eight-episode order from Amazon MGM Studios and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, the horror powerhouse run by Saw and The Conjuring creator James Wan and Jason Blum. The original movie was a bloody takedown of corporate greed, wrapped inside the story of a murdered cop rebuilt as a cyborg.

The main cast hasn’t been announced yet, so there’s no word on who will step into the metal suit. However, the creative team is already stacked. Peter Ocko, known for Lodge 49 and Pushing Daisies, is the showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
James Wan executive produces through Blumhouse Atomic Monster alongside Michael Clear and Rob Hackett, with Danielle Bozzone serving as co-executive producer and overseeing the project. Wan shared (via Variety):

Peter Ocko has crafted a vision that honors the soul of what made the original so enduring while building something entirely fresh and urgent for today.
Perhaps the most exciting name for longtime fans is Ed Neumeier, who co-created and co-wrote the original 1987 film. His involvement as an executive producer suggests the series wants to stay true to the spirit of the movie that started it all.
RoboCop Series Plot: What Is the Show About?

The RoboCop reboot series shares the same core idea that powered the original film, where dying Detroit cop Alex Murphy was rebuilt into RoboCop by the ruthless corporation Omni Consumer Products. The official logline kept things simple, reading:
A giant tech conglomerate convinces the city to place a powerful robot on its police force – a robot implanted with the consciousness of a beloved, fallen officer.
The new show may put its own spin on that setup. According to the same report from World of Reel, the series will introduce a fresh cybernetic hero named Marc Kyle. Unlike Murphy, Kyle reportedly starts out as a soldier rather than a police officer, dying in war before being rebuilt as a cyborg and learning the ropes under Murphy’s guidance.
Amazon hasn’t confirmed those details in its official announcement, so treat them as unconfirmed for now. What is clear is that the show plans to keep the franchise’s biting take on corporate power.
