Pep Guardiola has once again spoken about his future at Manchester City amid speculations that he could leave the Etihad this summer.

The Spaniard confirmed while speaking ahead of the Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday, February 9, 2026 that he still has a year left on his contract. According to Guardiola, he is not leaving Manchester City at the end of this season ( 2025/26) because he still has a year left on his contract.

He said,

“No, because I have one more year contract. (So you’ll stay until end of 2026/27?) The question on that was one month or two months ago, you were not here, and I’ll tell you again: It’s the same answer that I answered two months ago [I’m staying].”

Guardiola has taken Manchester City to the top of club football since he completed his move from Bayern Munich in 2016. He rewrote the history of the Premier League by becoming the first manager to win the title four times in a row, a feat that has never been achieved by any manager.

However, the last two seasons has been strange for Manchester City supporters and Guardiola has they have struggled in the Premier League. This seaosn looks like they might have something to cheer about as they are in the final of the Carabao Cup where they will have the Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Manchester City are currently second of the league table behind Arsenal with five points and ahead of Aston Villa with one point. A defeat against Liverpool this weekend might see them drop to third place which is taking the title far off from the former Champions.
