Peacock‘s upcoming show, The Miniature Wife, has several Marvel connections. It stars one of the major actors from Deadpool & Wolverine and features a storyline with components similar to Ant-Man. The Miniature Wife stars Matthew Macfadyen, who previously played Mr. Paradox in Deadpool & Wolverine. In the show, Macfadyen portrays Les Littlejohn, an inventor whose wife, Lindy (Elizabeth Banks), becomes miniaturized due to one of his creations.
The Miniature Wife releases on Peacock next month
The Miniature Wife premieres on Peacock on April 9, 2026. Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner created the series as an adaptation of Manuel Gonzales’ short story of the same name.
The official log line for The Miniature Wife reads, “A high-concept marital dramedy examining the power balances between spouses, Lindy and Les, who battle each other for supremacy after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis.”
Besides Macfadyen and Banks, the series’ cast includes Zoe Lister-Jones, Sofia Rosinsky, O-T Fagbenle, and Sian Clifford. Over the years, Macfadyen has played a wide range of characters in both films and television. He garnered widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Fitzwilliam Darcy in the 2005 film adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. He then played the Sheriff of Nottingham in Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood and Athos in Paul W. S. Anderson’s The Three Musketeers. Macfadyen has also won multiple Emmys for his performance as Tom Wambsgans on the HBO series Succession.
Meanwhile, Banks played Betty Brant in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies, Laura Bush in Oliver Stone’s W., and Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games movies, among many other memorable film roles. She also had many memorable recurring TV roles on hit shows such as Scrubs and Modern Family.
In an October 2025 interview with Variety, Macfadyen noted that The Miniature Wife is “like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids crossed with Scenes from a Marriage.” The actor added, “When you have something so heightened, it’s thrilling to jump in and see where it leads you.”
The Miniature Wife has 10 episodes, and all of them will debut together.
