Post-Wandavision‘s ending, Vision’s whereabouts have been very much under wraps, but fans can now finally expect to witness Paul Bettany‘s character return in Avengers: Secret Wars. In an interview with The Telegraph, the Legion star revealed that he has some commitments to Secret Wars, whose production is expected to commence in the summer of 2026.
I think I’ve got some Avengers duties next year
While the filming window can certainly shift depending on the pre-production, it’s now certain that he’ll return in Secret Wars. But before marking his return in the second chapter of the upcoming Avengers duology, set to mark the conclusion of the multiversal saga, fans will get to experience Bettany’s vision in his own Disney+ series, VisionQuest.
Will Wanda and Vision Reunite in Avengers: Secret Wars?
For all the issues that riddled the MCU’s multiversal saga, it’s important to remember this chapter did commence on a high note with WandaVision, which stands as one of the better outings from Marvel’s TV slate.
Although the show was far from perfect, especially during its latter half, the dynamic between Elizabeth Olsen‘s Wanda and Bettany’s Vision was undoubtedly the highlight of the series. With Vision now returning in Secret Wars, it remains to be seen whether Wanda, who met her apparent end in Multiverse of Madness, will reunite with her lost love or not.
Considering the concept of death doesn’t mean much in the current saga, a return doesn’t seem out of the cards. As for Olsen’s stance on the subject, while she confirmed she won’t be turning up in Doomsday, she entertained the prospect of playing Wanda again (via The Playlist).
I’ve been really proud of what we’ve been able to make. Really proud… I want to see [her] return in this role because I think what they’ve done with her is really great, and I love the journey she’s taken. I think it’s always a fun one to get to go back into, and I just have no idea how or when, for sure.
Given what she endured following the Vision’s death, hopefully, Secret Wars will allow her to find redemption by bringing the character back, as a reunion between them has the potential to become one of the most heartfelt MCU moments. For now, however, fans can only wait.
