The leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo is currently meeting with Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, at the Headquarters of the Directorate of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.
The delegation, led by the President of the apex Igbo Socio-Cultural body, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, entered the DSS Complex at about 1:05 p.m.
Although the details of the meeting have yet to be made public, it was gathered that the ongoing sit-at-home order in commemoration of Biafra Heroes Day will be featured.
In other news, security measures were put in place by state authorities and law enforcement agencies following the declaration of the Biafra Heroes Day by the IPOB across the South-East.
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, deployed additional police forces across schools in the state to maintain order and ensure safety.
The separatist group, IPOB, had earlier called for a sit-at-home on May 30 to honour the Igbo people who died during the Nigerian Civil War from 1967 to 1970.
This directive includes a shutdown of all business activities and restrictions on movement within the five Southeast states, which have historically seen significant compliance amidst tension and fear of violence.
In response, the Enugu State government has openly rejected the sit-at-home order, affirming that it has placed security agencies on red alert to thwart any disruptions of law and order.
