Paramount enlists a promising writer for a new Transformers movie. The studio and Hasbro are currently developing multiple new films in the franchise.
Who is writing a new Transformers movie?
The Wrap reports that Jason Fuchs has been tapped to write the script for a new Transformers movie. Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but the report reveals that it will follow 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Fuchs is known for writing on It: Welcome to Derry, Argylle, Pan, and has a story credit on 2017’s Wonder Woman. The writer’s next project will be a My Hero Academia movie for Netflix.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy will produce the untitled Transformers movie. Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment will executive-produce the film.
That’s not the only new Transformers movie in the works. Multiple other Transformers projects are in development, including a Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film is currently being written by Jurassic World writer Derek Connolly. Connolly’s credits include Deep Cover, Kong: Skull Island, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, and more.

The Transformers franchise started with Michael Bay’s 2007 original starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. Since then, it expanded to six mainline entries, a Bumblebee spin-off, and the unrelated animated film Transformers One in 2024. The franchise has collectively grossed over $5 billion worldwide.
Following the third film, the franchise has been on a downward trend financially, with the most recent film, Rise of the Beasts, becoming its lowest-grossing entry. Most recently, a Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover TV series was confirmed to be in development, making up the Energon Universe. Michael Bay has also expressed interest in making another Transformers movie.
The untitled Transformers film currently doesn’t have a release date.
