Naruto’s Ideologies Towards Justice Might Become the Fatal Flaw of Masashi Kishimoto’s Magnum Opus

Spread the love

One of the greatest anime and manga series of all time, Naruto, has been on the top of a pedestal for quite a while now. The show imparts fans with many important life lessons. The series does an excellent job of educating individuals on how to navigate life, from working hard for your aspirations to being careful of how you treat others. Naruto, the protagonist of the series has been an inspiration for not only a lot of fans but also many creators and their work too. The series has reflected on many societal issues and helped the audience understand them better.

However, there is one aspect that the story of Naruto has been unable to grasp properly which might become the flaw in Masashi Kishimoto’s magnum opus. This aspect is its ideology towards justice.

Naruto Has A Crooked Sense of Justice
The Naruto series has forever preached the idea of following your dreams no matter what and achieving them, but to do it within the limits of the law and regulations. However, the series counteracted its ideology with its crooked sense of justice against the story’s villains. There have been numerous times in the Naruto universe where justice was not served. Many individuals died due to the deeds of one or many villains, and none of them were prosecuted. Characters such as Kabuto and Orochimaru are never sincerely sorry for their actions. They spent years experimenting on children, murdering people all over the shinobi nations, and are responsible for the destruction of entire villages.
Orochimaru’s Chilling Experiments
Yet, they were absolved of their crimes and allowed to live among the people they harmed. Not only that, but Kabuto was the one who brought many dead ninjas back to life and manipulated them into fighting for Obito’s side in the conflict, which resulted in a large number of deaths. This shows that the series does not deliver properly on the justice department because, a crime no matter how small, needs to have some sort of consequence to make the criminal understand their actions.

Even The Heroes of Naruto Had No Sense of Justice
Even the good guys of the story have no sense of justice in the series. Be it the elders of the village of the third Hokage himself, they failed to deliver justice to the people and were responsible for many big crimes in the series. The Konoha elders, who ordered the killing, Koharu Utatane, Homura Mitokado, and Danzo Shimura bear responsibility for the Uchiha clan massacre. They attempted to excuse the rioting by claiming that it was necessary to keep the peace in the hamlet and among the citizens. The Uchiha, on the other hand, were village residents as well. Many innocent peasants died in the name of peace as a result of their acts.
The Third Hokage
Not only them, but the third Hokage had a poor sense of justice. When Kushina and Minato died, they gave Naruto to the Third Hokage. However, the third Hokage never interacted with the youngster and allowed him to grow up alone. To make matters worse, he stood by as Naruto was shunned by the entire town. Needless to say, Naruto is a great anime and provides many great learnings about society in general, but the one thing the series lacks is its shrewd sense of justice.
