The Fantastic Four will be more like the Fantastic Six in Avengers: Doomsday if a new rumor about the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is to be believed.
Introduced in last year’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the roster for Marvel’s First Family includes Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm/The Thing. Together, they are the “four” of the Fantastic Four.
However, the Fantastic Four hasn’t truly been just a foursome for some time. First Steps opened with H.E.R.B.I.E. already part of the team. The robot companion was originally created by Stan Lee for the 1978 animated Fantastic Four series, taking the Human Torch’s place on the team due to not having the character’s rights.
How will the Fantastic Four roster expand in Avengers: Doomsday?
Halfway through First Steps, Reed and Sue’s son, Franklin Richards, was born, bringing Marvel’s First Family to five human members. Now, scooper MAJESTIC_ucm is reporting on X that Avengers: Doomsday will introduce Reed and Sue’s other child, Franklin’s younger sister Valeria, hence the aforementioned suggestion to rename the team, the Fantastic Six.
According to the scooper, Valeria’s birth will be similar to how it played out in the pages of Marvel Comics, with Doctor Doom assisting in the birth, leading to the child being named Valeria. However, Doomsday will reveal that Victor von Doom had a wife named Valeria and an unnamed son, both of whom died. Reed and Sue’s daughter will be named Valeria “in memory of his late wife.”
Victor von Doom’s wife is named Valeria. They have a son. Both die. Now, Sue Storm is pregnant again and experiences complications. Victor saves the baby girl and names her Valeria in memory of his late wife.#AvengersDoomsday— MAJESTIC_ucm (@Majestic_ucm) March 4, 2026
It remains to be seen how the MCU will handle the complicated relationship between Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four. MyTimetoShineHello shared back in January that Doom will request the Fantastic Four’s help in dealing with incursions, adding that the five, along with Steve Rogers, will travel to the main MCU universe to warn the heroes living there about the incursions.
This suggests that Doom will initially be portrayed as an ally to the Fantastic Four and Avengers, before inevitably being revealed as the movie’s big bad. MyTimeToShineHello and James Mack, another trusted scooper, have both shared that Doctor Doom will be behind Loki’s death in Doomsday, as Doom needed him out of the way to take control of the Multiverse.
MCU fans can witness Doom’s deception when Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
