Kevin Feige’s plans for the MCU might be undoing years of trust, hype, and the epic stories that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for. Although there are several movies lined up at the moment, it seems that Feige is thinking beyond that, too.
During his talks with Variety, the President of Marvel Studios revealed that although it is a five-year plan, they have already thought of the projects until 2032!
It’s traditionally a five-year plan. I think it goes to 2032 right now. We produced 50 hours of stories between 2007 and 2019. We’ve had well over 100 hours of stories — in half the time. That’s too much.
Although Feige admits that it was an honest mistake that they decided to choose quantity over quality for a while, it seems that Feige might be accidentally doing the same thing by thinking of a future that isn’t even close yet.
Kevin Feige Has Already Planned Post MCU Reset With Avengers: Secret Wars

It has been famously stated multiple times that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be undergoing a soft reboot following the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. Rumors and speculations on the internet state that the X-Men will be joining the array of superheroes during the events of the 2027 film.
Other reports also confirm that the X-Men will be passing on the baton to other younger characters after joining Kevin Feige’s MCU. So, in all means, it has been heavily alleged that the MCU will be undergoing a soft reboot of sorts.
However, according to Kevin Feige’s statements, the traditional “five-year plan” has already been developed, and although we are in 2025 right now, Feige has thought about the projects till 2032!
Considering the soft reboot takes place in 2027 (after Avengers: Secret Wars), it means that Feige and the MCU do not plan to take a break at all. Instead of taking a break, Feige would rather relentlessly push the release of post-Secret Wars projects, which is a mistake in itself.
Kevin Feige and the MCU Need to Take a Break
All good things must certainly not come to an end, but at least they can take a break. Ever since 2008, the MCU has been pushing movies almost every year. Post Avengers: Endgame, the quantity increased substantially, and there was too much for anyone to ever watch it wholeheartedly.
Realizing their mistake, although Feige did order the number of MCU projects per year to be lessened, there is now a distrust amongst fans for the MCU. The failure of projects like Eternals, The Marvels, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Marvel’s Secret Invasion has led to a public outcry where the MCU is the villain.
Fans aren’t excited for the MCU anymore because they have been bombarded with so much content that nothing seems exciting anymore. Marvel and Kevin Feige need to take a breather and let things rest for a while before making a comeback so that audiences can feel the hype and anticipation once more.

However, considering Kevin Feige’s plans for the future of the MCU, it seems unlikely that the President will stop for a while to let things simmer while he plans for a comeback bigger than Avengers: Endgame.
The rest remains with the MCU gods and Kevin Feige, but at the pace that they are planning things, the MCU might just lose its value like an overtly clingy lover.
