Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains some spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 12 ( Part 1 Finale).

If you thought the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 finale was the peak of chaos, yeah, not even close. Part 1 of the Culling Game arc basically started the chaos, and it is only going to get crazier from here. That is where the official Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 announcement comes in.

Right after that insane Sendai Colony showdown, we received confirmation that the story would continue the Culling Game arc storyline. So here in this article, we are going to discuss whatever we know about the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 so far, and also briefly talk about the ending of the Season 3 finale. Let us explore in detail.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Announcement: The Culling Game Continues

So here is what we know – Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 is basically the next phase of the Culling Game, often referred to as Part 2. It is not a new arc narratively, but a continuation of everything that has already been established in the Season 3 story.

The official announcement made it clear that the deadly game is still ongoing, and the focus will shift back to Yuji Itadori and the others as they try to deal with the situation. The official announcement in Japanese (via @animejujutsu on Twitter/X), when translated using Google Translate into English, reads the following-

The deadly battle between the sorcerers continues. To find out what happens to Itadori and his friends as they try to quell the game, please stay tuned for further updates in Season 4, “The Death Reversal Part 2 [Culling Game Part 2]”.

So yeah, what makes the upcoming Part 2 exciting is the scale. The Sendai Colony – where Yuta Okkotsu was fighting – is just one part of a much bigger battlefield. There are several other colonies where multiple fights are happening at the same time, and a lot of powerful players are still in the game.

While there has not been an official date announced yet for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4, the official announcement made it clear that the story is moving into a much bigger, more intense phase.

What to Expect Next in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4

Based on where Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 ended, the story is right at the tail end of the Sendai Colony battle (half of Chapter 181 of JJK manga), around the conclusion of Yuta Okkotsu’s fight. Therefore, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 will begin right after this event and continue deeper into the Culling Game.

Now, if the anime follows its usual pacing, it would be reasonable to assume that Season 4 will include everything that happens within each of the key colonies. And yeah, even though as of now we do not really know how many episodes the next season will have – like 12 or 24 or more – realistically, it should build all the way up to just before the Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku clash (until Chapter 223).

That actually makes a lot of sense structurally; however, please note that nothing is officially confirmed as of now, and we are still waiting for official updates. Instead of rushing into that massive next stage, Season 4 can fully wrap up the Culling Game’s core conflicts and end right at the point where things are about to escalate into something even bigger.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Part 1 Finale Ending Explained

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Part 1 ends with a nonstop battle in the Sendai Colony. It starts with Yuta facing a strong cursed spirit named Kurourushi. What makes Kurourushi so dangerous is simply how it works. It controls swarms of cockroaches and can reproduce through parthenogenesis, which means the threat does not just disappear easily.

Yuta was able to defeat Kurourushi using offensive reverse-cursed techniques, and that was only the beginning. Things heat up when Ryu Ishigori and Takako Uro enter the scene. Uro’s ability to manipulate space makes fighting against her extremely difficult. She starts treating the sky like a surface and bending attacks in ways that make it really hard to fight her normally.

Ryu, on the other hand, uses raw brute strength. The Granite Blast that he creates is pure destructive force, and every time he uses it, it feels like everything around him is getting wiped out. And somehow, Yuta was handling both of them at the same time.

At this point, Yuta proves why he is on a different level – not only in terms of power but also adaptability. He heals using reverse-cursed technique, uses cursed speech, and then comes the biggest reveal – he can copy other cursed techniques under certain conditions. And once Rika fully manifested, the magnitude of the fight increased exponentially.

The final fight between Yuta and Ryu was easily one of the highlights of the episode. Moreover, with Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Opening theme song “AIZO” in the background, you know, that made the scenes even more intense. Instead of overpowering Ryu, Yuta outsmarts him – redirecting Ryu’s own Granite Blast at him by using Uro’s technique.

That moment alone shows how sharp Yuta is in battle. In addition to all of that, the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 does not only end with fights – it actually sets up what comes next. After the battle, Yuta chooses to interact with Uro and Ryu, rather than killing them off. This is important because of how the Culling Game works now – players can transfer points, and Yuta needed those points to help his allies add new rules to the game.

Uro, despite everything, was left alive but was clearly shaken, while Ryu – interestingly enough – was satisfied after finally getting the fight he wanted. He willingly cooperates, and Yuta was able to secure his points without killing him. Yuta’s decision not to kill either Uro or Ryu speaks volumes about his character. He had the option to kill both opponents, but made the conscious choice not to by finding another way to resolve things.

And in a game where killing is the easiest option, that decision actually matters. Now, before we end this article, here is a quick look at the IMDb ratings of all the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 episodes. Please note that all the ratings mentioned below are as of March 27, 2026.

By the end of the episode, the fight in the Sendai Colony was over – but the Culling Game itself is far from finished. If anything, this finale just shows how dangerous the game really is, and how much bigger things are about to get moving forward. So, are you ready for what comes next in the Culling Game?
