Man of Steel star Henry Cavill in a 2018 interview with Men’s Journal spoke about an issue concerning two of DC’s finest, the Son of Krypton and the Bat of Gotham. Cavill had an opinion about the two characters that may have been hard for DC fans to swallow, but he went into the details to explain why he thought so.
According to the actor, a Superman film is 10 times tougher to properly execute on the silver screen as compared to a Batman film. Both comic book characters have plenty of stories that can inspire filmmakers to convert them into live-action blockbusters, but Cavill felt that cracking a Superman story takes a lot of effort.

since he shared his feelings about The Dark Knight in an unusual way, we ought to take a look into the world of Gotham’s brooding vigilante that is worth $6.79 billion; and make no mistake, James Gunn’s DCU is nowhere close.

Henry Cavill Said A Batman Story Is Easy To Execute
Cavill put forth an argument that Batman’s stories are easy to crack as the character is majorly known to be brooding and dangerous. While there may not be a counter to this particular opinion of his, Batman’s world is quite complex and filled with characters who are complicated.

Cavill said to Men’s Journal –
“There’s so much that can be done with Superman. The Batman story is easy. He’s dark and brooding and dangerous. Superman, I believe, can be a better story, but it requires 10 times the effort to get it right.”
As for Superman, he felt that the studio execs needed to care for the character as much as he did while he hoped to tell many great stories for years to come.

Batman Franchise Compared To James Gunn’s DCU
Ever since James Gunn took over the DC studios as co-chair, the films under his leadership have been struggling to print hard at the box office. The Batman franchise stands tall with $6.79 billion, which is only going to increase now as Matt Reeves is set to begin filming on the sequel to 2022’s The Batman this November, as per Collider.
James Gunn
Let’s take a look at how DC films have performed since Gunn’s arrival –
1. The Suicide Squad – $167 million
2. Black Adam – $391 million
3. Shazam! Fury of the Gods – $132 million
4. The Flash – $268 million
5. Blue Beetle – $115 million
