Pedro Pascal is everywhere, and while we aren’t complaining, fans have one question: How much Pedro Pascal is too much? From the stoic Din Djarin to the heartbreaking Joel Miller, the Chilean-American actor has captured all our hearts with his roles and honest off-screen moments, earning him the well-deserved title of the Internet’s Daddy.
However, when Pascal got cast as Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, fans had their doubts. Let’s make one thing clear: this conversation is not about talent. After all, Pascal is praised for his range and emotional depth, but does Hollywood need him in every project? It reminds us of the Chris Pratt phenomenon.
After Pratt’s breakthrough role in Parks and Recreation, he established himself as one of Hollywood’s top leading men. He went on to do Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, Jurassic World, Passengers, and whatnot. Pratt also gave his voice to films like The Lego Movie, Onward, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and The Garfield Movie. Clearly, no matter where you turned, you’d come across Pratt.
Now, Pascal seems to be in a similar spot. Just in the last five years, the actor has done We Can Be Heroes, Gladiator II, Eddington, Materialists, and more. He has also been in short films and done voice roles. Perhaps the point is not that Pascal is in everything, but everything he’s in somehow takes over the Internet until that’s all we see.
And then there’s Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four reboot. While his Reed Richards was a welcome upgrade, some still aren’t able to see him in Mr. Fantastic’s shoes. Take a look:

We can argue that this isn’t Pascal’s fault – it’s the industry’s. Hollywood tends to latch onto a beloved star and cast them in rapid succession until the audience has had enough. Perhaps Reed Richards belonged to someone fairly unknown, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal.
Pedro Pascal Almost Gave Up on Hollywood Once

Pedro Pascal was in his late thirties when he rose to prominence thanks to Game of Thrones. It was only uphill from there. However, before he found success in his passion, there was a time when he almost gave it all up.
Talking to Vanity Fair in June, Pascal revealed that he was supposed to have a well-established career in his thirties. Like many, he also believed that “past 29 without a career meant that it was over, definitely“. Luckily, Pascal had something many would consider a luxury: support from those around him.
His older sister, Javiera Balmaceda, told the magazine,
When Pedro would say, ‘I’m going to nursing school’ or ‘I’m going to be a theater teacher,’ it was just like ‘No, no, no, no! You’re too good!’…He’s wanted to be an actor since he was four years old. The one thing we’d never allow Pedro to do was give up.
What happened next was the perfect example of how a community comes together to protect its own. His sister gave him money, his friends bought him food and groceries, his neighbors took care of his dog, Gretta, and more. Moreover, his BFF Sarah Paulson also came through for him.
Pascal recalled, “Basically, everybody took care of me, well into my 30s. I had angels around me the whole time.” Aren’t we glad they didn’t let him give up on his dreams?
What’s Next For Pedro Pascal?
We last saw Pedro Pascal in First Steps, but you won’t have to wait long before the actor returns to your screens. Starting off strong with The Mandalorian and Grogu, Pascal will reprise his iconic Star Wars role for Jon Favreau’s flick.
It is a continuation of the Disney+ series. Fans can expect a star-studded cast coming their way. Not only is Pascal returning to play Din Djarin, but the film will also have Sigourney Weaver (Ward), Jeremy Allen White (Rotta the Hut), and Jonny Coyne (Imperial Warlord), among others.

Next, Pascal is set to step back into the shoes of Reed Richards for Avengers: Doomsday, probably the most-anticipated MCU film yet. Everything is being kept under wraps at the moment, except the partial cast announcement.
There is no way to know what Pascal’s role would be in the film, but one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
Lastly, Pascal will also be seen in Behemoth, a drama written, directed, and produced by the powerhouse that is Tony Gilroy. So far, the details of the film remain sealed. What we do know is that Pedro will be joined by some incredible names in the industry, including David Harbour, Eva Victor, Olivia Wilde, Alexa Swinton, Margarita Levieva, and Matthew Lillard.
