Finding a legal place to read manga for free is not always easy. While there are plenty of official services, many of them require subscriptions, accounts, or are only available in certain countries.
To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Shueisha has changed that with MANGA MILLION. The new platform lets fans around the world read nearly 400 manga titles and more than one million pages for free in over 100 languages, making it one of the publisher’s biggest global projects ever.
How to Read Free Manga on Shueisha’s “MANGA MILLION”
Using MANGA MILLION is as easy as opening a website. There is no need to create an account, sign in, or download a separate app. Simply visit the official MANGA MILLION website and start reading.
The platform launched with around 400 manga series from different genres, giving readers plenty of choices. Whether you enjoy action, adventure, romance, comedy, fantasy, or slice-of-life stories, there is something for everyone.
Some of the biggest names on the platform include One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, SPY×FAMILY, Kingdom, Oshi no Ko, NANA, and many more. One of the platform’s biggest highlights is its language support. MANGA MILLION offers manga in more than 100 languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and many others.
According to Shueisha, nearly 300 manga have been officially translated for the first time through this project, while around 50 titles received multilingual translations. Shueisha also confirmed that these translations were not created using AI. Instead, the company said that they are “done by professional translators” from around the world to make this massive translation effort possible (via the official website).
The service is completely free and reportedly scheduled to remain available through the end of December 2027 (via Oricon Japan). Thus, fans are encouraged to take advantage of it while it is available.

One of the most impressive things about MANGA MILLION is its global reach. Unlike many digital manga platforms that are limited by regional restrictions, this service is available in most countries around the world. Normally, Shueisha’s other popular manga reading platform, MANGA Plus, does not operate in Japan, China, or South Korea because those countries already have their own official manga platforms and licensing systems.
However, MANGA MILLION takes a different approach. Created to celebrate Shueisha‘s 100th anniversary, the platform is designed to reach readers across the world by removing many of the regional and language barriers that usually exist. Instead of following its usual restrictions, MANGA MILLION includes professionally translated manga in Chinese and Korean alongside more than 100 other languages, making the project far more accessible to international readers.
Japan also receives limited access to parts of the service due to existing licensing arrangements. Readers in Japan can view select content, such as the first 12 volumes of One Piece in several languages and author interviews, though the rest of the 400 titles remain geoblocked locally (via Mantan Web Japan).
Shueisha President Hideaki Hayashi also said the company hopes MANGA MILLION will create new connections between manga creators and readers around the world while inspiring future generations of fans and creators (via SHUEISHA Press release). According to him –
One of a publisher’s most important responsibilities is to connect creative talent with the public. Japanese manga has flourished through the passionate artistry of countless manga creators and the unwavering support of readers, growing into a cultural phenomenon embraced across borders around the world. MANGA MILLION was made possible through the incredible cooperation of these creators, and as we mark Shueisha’s 100th anniversary, we hope it will create new connections with readers worldwide, provide opportunities to experience the richness and diversity of manga culture, and inspire future generations of manga creators.
So, whether you are reading a classic for the first time or revisiting an old favorite, this limited-time event offers an excellent opportunity to explore Japanese manga legally and for free. Now the big question: Which manga series will you read first before MANGA MILLION’s free access comes to an end? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
