Hytale Has Finally Managed to Escape Development Hell!

Now, it’s fair to say that Hytale is one of the hottest games on the market right now, and why shouldn’t it be? It’s basically the sandbox elements of Minecraft combined with deeper RPG aspects. It’s made by the same development team that was behind one of the most popular Minecraft servers, Hypixel. It combines the best of both genres.
However, Hytale‘s journey to its current stage wasn’t the smoothest. If you didn’t know, this game began its development all the way back in 2015. Initially, it was completely funded by Hypixel Studios. However, at some point, Riot Games heard about the project and decided to invest in it. Heck, in 2020, the studio was even completely acquired by the company.
Now with that kind of backing, one might think that there is no way this game faces any kind of development issues or challenges. However, that didn’t prove to be the case. Due to the game’s ambitious nature, it was stuck in development hell and was even cancelled in 2025. However, Simon Collins-Laflamme, who was the founder of the game and the studio, regained the rights and eventually released the game in early access on January 13th, 2026!
