Build styles are everything that matters in any ARPG, and the same applies to the Last Epoch, where the player’s chosen mastery and their proficiency with it can make the difference between being good in the game or not. However, it’s always easy to misjudge what mastery you really are good with before investing a while in the game, and for those scenarios, it comes in handy to know how to change it later on.
This guide covers everything you need to know, from respecializing your mastery in Last Epoch using the in-game NPC to a breakdown of all the masteries available so you can make an informed choice before you switch.
How to Respecialize Mastery in Last Epoch

For those unfamiliar, for the longest while, selecting your mastery meant making a one-time choice, as it was irreversible before the game’s season 2 update. However, after that update, players have been able to freely switch between masteries as they wish, skipping them the hassle of starting a new character and resetting everything.
To do so, the first step would be to reach the End of Time. It is a location in the game that you should be able to unlock quickly by progressing through the campaign, and it additionally happens to be the central endgame hub for Last Epoch.
After reaching the End of Time, to change your class mastery, head to Chronomancer Lerinne, i.e., the respec NPC found south of the waypoint that will help you make the switch. This is also the same character that earlier helped players respec their mastery class passive points.
Make sure to choose the Respecialize Mastery option while talking to this NPC, as choosing the other option, Respecialize Mastery Point allocations instead, will open your passive tree and will allow you to manipulate the passive points you’ve already invested.
It’s also important to note that changing your Mastery isn’t free. The cost of changing your mastery can vary depending on your character’s level, meaning a higher-level character will have to pay the NPC more gold than a lower-level one.
