The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday is set to feature a number of surprise cameos, and an insider recently revealed how Marvel is keeping some secrets.

How is Avengers: Doomsday keeping cast members a secret?

In a recent post on social media, Alex Perez of My Cosmic Circus shared an AI photo of both Hugh Jackman and Tobey Maguire, which was being spread around the internet as the two on set of Doomsday in their respective Wolverine and Spider-Man suits.

Perez noted that, while both stars will be in the movie, the picture is fake, and revealed why no photos of Maguire in his Spider-Man suit will make their way online. “They’re in the movie but this picture is fake. Reminder that Tobey’s suit is mo-cap,” said Perez. “Also hearing that they filmed separately and a lot of these appearances are being filmed separate.”

Perez’s comments seem to indicate that Marvel Studios is doing all it can to prevent some big spoilers from leaking. Of course, with so many people clamoring for information, it’s unlikely to prevent everything. Fans already expect many stars to be in the upcoming movie.

So far, several major stars from the MCU have been confirmed to be in the movie, including Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright’s Shuri/Black Panther, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man.

More names for the upcoming movie include Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent/John Walker, Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing/Ben Grimm, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, Lewis Pullman’s Bob/Sentry, Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm/Human Torch, David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Winston Duke‘s M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen‘s Ava Starr/Ghost, and Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki.

Several X-Men characters are also coming back for the upcoming movie, including Patrick Stewart‘s Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen‘s Magneto, Alan Cumming‘s Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn‘s Mystique, James Marsden‘s Cyclops, and Channing Tatum‘s Gambit.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026.
