Rumors of Henry Cavill making a debut in the Game of Thrones universe have been circulating after a clip of actor Peter Claffey‘s interview went viral. Cavill has been fan-casted for years in the popular universe. However, Claffey recently shut down the rumors of his appearance in the new Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Henry Cavill won’t be in new Game of Thrones spin-off
Henry Cavill will not have a cameo appearance in the new GOT spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Peter Claffey, who plays the role of Ser Duncan the Tall in the spin-off, debunked the rumors.
Recently, a clip of Claffey and actor Dexter Sol Ansell, who plays Egg in the series, went viral. In the clip, as Claffey drew a comparison between his character and Cavill’s The Witcher character, Geralt of Rivia, Ansell immediately asked him, “Do you think you can say that Henry Cavill…?”
After a pause, Claffey immediately stated, “No, no, no, no, god no, no, don’t say that, sorry.” Moreover, he addressed the journalists and added, “You didn’t hear that.” As this clip made its way to social media, many fans began anticipating a cameo appearance from Cavill in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
However, Claffey shut down the rumors by posting a story on Instagram. Claffey stated, “Just to clarify, the thing Dex was referring to in the interview had nothing to do with Henry Cavill coming into the show or the GOT universe (I wish!) Complete misunderstanding. Hope everyone enjoys the Trial of the Seven.” (via westerosies)

Amid all the fan castings, Cavill has also expressed his desire to debut in the GOT universe. While speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in 2022, he said, “I think it would be cool to be in Westeros, I really do. I don’t think there’s a place for me in there, though.”
