George Clooney just confirmed that Ocean’s 14 is officially happening, and filming could begin next year. While promoting his new movie, Jay Kelly at the New York Film Festival, Clooney told E! News that Warner Bros. has already approved the budget and that the team is now figuring out the schedule. 

We just got the budget approved at Warner Brothers, and we’re trying to set up — it’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about nine or ten months, shooting.

Further reflecting on the topic of the cast and crew, the actor hinted that the classic team could return, including Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and Julia Roberts. He even mentioned having dinner with Roberts recently, saying they’re all still close friends and would love to work together again. 

Yeah, Brad [Pitt], Matt [Damon] and Don [Cheadle], and Julia [Roberts]. I had dinner last night with Julia. They’re all still really dear friends. And so, the chance to work together would be fun.

Now, following George Clooney’s comments about the cast’s potential reunion, fans were left wondering if Sandra Bullock, who led Ocean’s 8, could also join the new movie. Overall, with the original crew possibly reuniting, Ocean’s 14 sounds like one of the most exciting Hollywood comebacks in years.

Can Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock Finally Star in an Ocean’s Film Together? 

Fans have dreamed of seeing Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock together in one Ocean’s movie for years. After all, with their effortless charm and sharp comedic timing, both actresses have been a part of this heist franchise. In the original trilogy, Roberts played Tess Ocean, George Clooney’s onscreen wife, while Bullock played Debbie Ocean, his sister, in Ocean’s 8. 

But sadly, neither of the two actresses ever crossed paths in this film franchise. So now, with talks of Ocean’s 14 in the making, fans are wondering if the upcoming film could finally bring Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock together for a perfect family reunion. After all, a crossover between the two Ocean’s worlds makes a lot of sense.

But how could it happen? Well, perhaps the storyline could go like this: A new villain appears in the upcoming film, whose methods are too modern and aggressive for the OG team alone. So Roberts’ character Tess contacts Bullock’s Debbie, and the two Oceans join forces to take down this shared enemy.

Although this might offer Sandra Bullock a short screentime, fans would still appreciate her appearance instead of a full-time role. Later on, they could add a cherry on the cake by showing a post-credit scene where Debbie, after taking down the enemy, helps her brother plan one last heist before bidding adieu. This could set the stage for another sequel. 

George Clooney Previously Teased Going in Style-Like Plot for Ocean’s 14

Meanwhile, George Clooney has already hinted that Ocean’s 14 won’t be a typical heist film like before. In an interview with Uproxx, he said the new story will have a Going in Style-like vibe, a reference to the 2017 comedy about three older men planning one last robbery. That means Clooney and his crew might be older, wiser, but still just as clever.

And this time, instead of pulling off a high-tech casino heist, they could be planning one last job for fun, or maybe to help someone in trouble (this is where our plan for Sandra Bullock’s entry comes) because only this kind of story would give the Ocean’s team a perfect reason to reunite after all these years.

We have a really good script for another Ocean’s now, so we may end up doing another one. It’s actually a great script. I don’t want to call it Ocean’s 14, the idea is kind of like Going in Style. 

Maybe Danny Ocean will gather his old friends, Rusty, Linus, and Tess, for one final mission that reminds them of the old days. The tone could balance humor, nostalgia, and emotion, showing that the old crew still has tricks up their sleeves. And if Sandra Bullock joins in, it would fit this setup perfectly.
