The mystery isn’t over yet—FROM has officially been renewed for Season 5, and there’s both good news and bad news for fans.
MGM+ has confirmed that the upcoming season will also be the series’ final chapter, meaning the terrifying journey through the nightmarish town is heading toward its long-awaited conclusion. The creator says ending the story with Season 5 was a creative decision, giving them the chance to answer the show’s biggest mysteries instead of dragging them out.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, John Griffin revealed that ending the show with Season 5 was a tough call. In fact, they considered making a sixth one but decided against it because the story naturally ends with Season 5. They admitted that continuing the series would have been driven by their emotional attachment to the show rather than the story itself.
Interestingly, he also said in the same interview:
Five seasons was always the goal, but we always wanted to let the story tell us when it was time to end.
He said that the team always envisioned FROM with a clear narrative arc, saying that Jim’s death at the end of Season 3 marked the end of the beginning, while Season 4 naturally serves as the beginning of the end.
Griffin added that having MGM+’s full support allowed the creators to tell the story exactly as they intended from the start, without rushing or unnecessarily extending it. Rather than deciding the ending based on popularity, the team chose to let the story determine when it was time to conclude.
When Will FROM Season 5 Premiere?

FROM Season 5 is expected to premiere sometime in 2027, although MGM+ has not yet announced an exact release date. Production is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where the series has been filmed since its debut.
The new season will consist of 13 episodes, matching the episode count of previous installments. Since filming is only now getting underway, fans should expect several months of production and post-production before the final season is ready to air.
MGM+ is expected to reveal a premiere date and release schedule closer to the show’s return as production progresses.
Who Stars In FROM Season 5: Cast Members Expected to Return

Other returning cast members are expected to include Chloe Van Landschoot as Kristi Miller, Pegah Ghafoori as Fatima Hassan, Corteon Moore as Ellis Stevens, and Hannah Cheramy as Julie Matthews, all of whom remain central to the story.
However, Eion Bailey is not expected to return as Jim Matthews following the character’s death, although flashbacks or visions remain possible given the show’s supernatural elements.
