Jeremy Renner became a worldwide star after becoming a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has played the role of Hawkeye since 2011, debuting in Thor. Since then, he has been in numerous movies until we saw the character take a step back after Avengers: Endgame. Back in 2021, Renner came back to the role of the bow and arrow wielding superhero with the Disney+ show, Hawkeye.

In the same year, he was also seen leading the TV show, Mayor of Kingstown. The Taylor Sheridan created crime thriller became a hit because of the brilliant story as well as the amazing performance of the cast, led by Jeremy Renner. But fans of the show and the actor sure had a laugh when the “mayor” was seen holding a bow and arrow on the very first season of crime thriller.
Not Hawkeye, But Jeremy Renner’s Mayor Had a Bow and Arrow Moment
When Jeremy Renner is not busy saving the world as a superhero, he is busy “saving” a town that deals with incarceration. But in both cases, he needs a weapon, and turns out the superhero and the mayor both have that in common. In season 1 of Mayor of Kingstown, we see Mike McLusky, Renner’s character, out and about with a bow and an arrow, to hunt a bear down that’s lurking the forests of Kingstown.

Which is funny, given his most popular role, that of the Marvel hero Hawkeye’s choice of weapon is also a bow and arrows. Speaking to The A. V. Club, Renner revealed how he wasn’t too thrilled to have the bow and arrow handed back to him, even though he was far from the Marvel world.
“Do you really need me to have a bow? How about a crossbow instead?”

We get it, Mr. Renner. You just wanted a change of pace (and weapons).
Mayor of Kingstown Will Soon Be Back With Season 3

The story surrounding America’s prison system is the backbone of the crime thriller, which will soon be returning with its third season. The trailer for the upcoming season is already out, and things look just as tense and dramatic as we had left it at the end of season 2. Jeremy Renner will be back to lead the McLusky family in the middle of chaos and fans could not be happier.

There was some speculation regarding the show, on whether it would return for a third season after Jeremy Renner’s near-fatal accident on Jan 1, 2023.
But the actor was up and running in no time after multiple surgeries and some pretty intensive physiotherapy and training. Back in January this year, Renner posted a photo of him being back on the set of the show, which was great news for fans of the actor as well as the show. And now, with filming done, the third is almost ready to premiere.
Mayor of Kingstown season 3 will be available on Paramount+ from June 2, 2024.
