Some plans for Kingpin after Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 have reportedly been revealed.
Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres on the Disney+ streaming service next month. A continuation of the Netflix show, Born Again sees Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their MCU roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
Daredevil: Born Again has already been renewed for a third chapter, and some recent comments from showrunner Dario Scardapane have fans thinking Marvel may be taking the show in a different direction after Season 2 concludes.
Scardapane told SFX Magazine, “Getting into the realm of politics, New York politics, the Game of Thrones intrigue behind the scenes… okay, that’s fun too, but as it becomes almost too topical it feels like it’s going away from the large, mythological genre stuff. So as we finish up the Mayor Fisk run with season 2, as that storyline comes to its inevitable conclusion, what we’re doing going forward feels more like a return to the [Frank] Miller-era comics. So yeah, it was fun to play in the realm of politics, but I like something a little more street level, personally.”
What is the new Daredevil: Born Again rumor?
Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus has previously teased that Marvel Studios has plans to adapt Devil’s Reign into a live-action Daredevil storyline. Devil’s Reign is a 2021 crossover event that sees Wilson Fisk, who is the mayor of New York City, outlaw all superheroes.
In light of Scardapane’s recent comments, Perez was asked if the Devil’s Reign MCU storyline was still happening or if that’s no longer be the case.
Perez answered, “Even if he loses his mayoral seat, the power vacuum he left taking out his competition leaves him at the top of the underworld game for when he eventually returns to his enterprise. You guys need to look ahead.”
This is just a rumor at this time, and it should be treated as such, as there’s been no plot details for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 that have been officially announced at this time. Season 2 premieres on March 24, 2026.
