Court Rules In Favor Of Sarah Omega Ajijola, Dismisses NBA 2020 Election Fraud Case

The Federal High Court has dismissed the election fraud case against Sarah Omega Ajijola due to lack of jurisdiction.
The decision, announced on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, brings an end to a three-year legal battle and fully exonerates Sarah of any wrongdoing related to alleged election fraud.
The case, initially filed in 2020, accused Sarah of involvement in election fraud during the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2018 general elections. However, after careful consideration, the court determined that it lacked the proper jurisdiction to proceed with the case, ultimately leading to the dismissal of all charges against Sarah.
Sarah Omega Ajijola expressed her relief and gratitude following the court’s decision. “I am greatly relieved that this ordeal has finally ended,” she stated. “From the beginning, I maintained my innocence against these baseless allegations against me, and I am grateful that the court has recognized the lack of merit in this case.”
The dismissal of the case holds particular significance as it occurred in the same region that produced the NBA President six years ago. Sarah reflected on the challenging period, stating, “It was sad that the reward for hard work was a case filed against me in court.”
