Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord is easily one of the biggest names missing from the massive cast of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. However, Star-Lord will return, and according to insider Alex Perez, his new role sees him break a record that none of the original six Avengers have managed to achieve.
He’ll be back and will build a new team of unlikely heroes. Not GOTG.
Perez made the above statement during a Q&A session on The Cosmic Circus, where he shared the rumored plans for Pratt’s return to the MCU. According to the scooper, Pratt will form a new team in his next appearance, and here’s how that might just be a new MCU record.
Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord Might be the Only MCU Hero to Lead 2 Teams
Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord last appeared in 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which teased the hero would be back in the MCU down the line. According to reports, Pratt will be seen forming a new team upon his return, one that will be different from the Guardians.

As a result, Pratt’s Star-Lord might become the first MCU hero to not only form but also lead two superhero teams. The original six Avengers, who formed the superhero team, did work with organizations like SHIELD and teamed up with other heroes, but none led an actual team.
Thor and Hulk briefly formed the Revengers on Asgard, but that cannot be considered an actual team. Similarly, Captain America led his own team following the events of the Civil War, but that was simply a faction of the Avengers.
As a result, if Pratt is returning to the MCU and forming a new team of superheroes, that could be a welcome breath of fresh air. Moreover, Star-Lord is often at his best when he is leading a team, especially after losing his cosmic powers. Therefore, Star-Lord’s new team might just be an exciting new addition to the MCU.
5 Heroes Who Should Be on Star-Lord’s New MCU Team
Although Perez hinted at Star-Lord’s return to the MCU, the rumors did not confirm when and how the new team will be formed. As a result, Star-Lord’s new team could likely be introduced during or after Secret Wars. Here are all of Chris Pratt’s live-action appearances in the MCU to date:

Since the mutants are likely to feature prominently in the next phase, it is possible that Star-Lord’s romance with Kitty Pryde could be brought to the big screen with the latter being a part of his team.
Similarly, Nova, who has been heavily rumored to be primed for a solo MCU project, could be a strong addition to Star-Lord’s new team, with the Sam Alexander iterations essentially serving as a mirror to the more experienced Star-Lord.
Thor’s sister Angela could also be added to the team if Star-Lord’s adventures continue in the more cosmic side of the MCU. Likewise, Jack Flag, who joined Star-Lord’s Guardians team in the comics, could be a more grounded addition to the team.
Lastly, Sinjin Quarrel, a man who impersonates Star-Lord in a three-issue miniseries, could be an obscure addition to round off the team (via Marvel Wiki). Hence, Star-Lord’s new team could allow for the introduction of several new characters to the MCU.
