The champions who would take on the newly promoted Burnley side, which is coached by the former captain Vincent Kompany, would start the game without John Stones and Jack Grealish.
The club’s new signings, Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol, have been placed on the bench for this fixture and will be looking to make a difference as the game progresses. The highest goalscorer for the 2022/2023 season, Erling Haaland, also starts and would be looking to get his name on the scoresheet as well.
