Hiori and Karasu team up
According to the spoilers, the chapter begins with the commentators announcing that Hiori Yo has possession of the ball and is pushing from the left side. He also joins Karasu as he thinks that the latter is too slow after France decoded Isagi’s attack pattern.
Thus, Hiori decides to create a new pattern with Karasu. Seeing him make his move, Renoir urges his team to mark him. Hiori prepares to shoot, but finds no path to the goal; thus, he makes a pass. He notices that France’s defensive line is in chaos and tells Karasu to shoot.
Karasu wants Hiori to shoot
Karasu, on the other hand, calls Hiori a sadist and asserts that he was the one who was supposed to shoot. He lauds the latter’s talent as a striker and acknowledges his skills. Karasu passes the ball back to Hiori and urges him to take the shot.
Just then, Rin appears on his side and tells Hiori to pass to him. Isagi also asks him to give the ball to Rin. However, Karasu yells for Hiori to shoot. Seeing him making the sacrifice, Hiori gets fired up and believes that self-sacrifice is also a path to victory.
Hiori scores the first goal for Japan
Renoir sees Hiori creating a shooting path for himself and scoring the first goal for Japan. Seeing the goal, Charles states that they didn’t think Japan could score without Isagi. Following the goal, commentators announce that Japan has tied the score due to the team-up between Karasu and Hiori.
Chigiri and Bachira also cheer for the duo, whereas Isagi thinks about Karasu’s playstyle. He concludes that his playstyle threw away any chance of him scoring. Hence, this makes Isagi wonder if self-sacrifice is also a way of fighting.
Isagi is confused after Hiori’s attack
While Isagi still thinks about Karasu’s game, Hugo appreciates the Number 2 mindset shown by him. He also asks that if another player is willing to become Number 2 ahead in the game, thus, throwing a taunt at Isagi.
Suddenly, Rin approaches from behind and tells Isagi not to listen to Hugo. He conveys that Isagi has to compete with him for the Number 1 spot. On the other hand, while Anri rejoices and asserts that the attack pattern by Karasu and Hiori will let them stay in the fight, Ego refuses. He states that this is not the chemical reaction he thought of. At the end of the chapter, Isagi is seen confused between what to believe and what not to.
