Batman’s next big story will see two iconic DC villains attempt to completely decimate Gotham City.
DC Comics has announced plans for a new Batman-related event that is scheduled to launch later this year. The event is titled Bad Seeds and will see the city’s police commissioner clashing with the mayor for the heart of Gotham.

What else do we know about the new Batman DC event?
A description of Bad Seeds reads, “Gotham City police commissioner Vandal Savage has declared war on the Bat-Family and flooded the streets with his private, para-militarized police army. Gotham’s new mayor, Pamela Isley, deserted by her allies both political and arcane, is about to make a last-ditch power play that will leave all of Gotham decimated by daylight. These events converge in Bad Seeds, spanning a long, dark night in Gotham that threatens to turn the entire city into a primeval world of hostile plant life unlike anything on Earth for millennia, at a time when its greatest heroes are hunted and in hiding.”
More details about Bad Seeds will be released in the coming months. An official launch date has not yet been announced, though the press release from DC mentions the event will be “arriving in Q3 2026.”
It was previously known that Pamela Isley was going to become the new mayor of Gotham City. That storyline begins in Poison Ivy #42, which releases on March 4, 2026. The solicitation for that issue reads, “GOTHAM CITY HAS A NEW MAYOR! It’s the beginning of a brave new era of Poison Ivy as Pamela Isley ascends to the role of mayor of Gotham City. But what is her vision for Gotham’s future, and how far will she go to protect it?! Let’s just say things are going to get pretty bloody!”
