Chris Hemsworth was present at a promotional event for his latest movie, Crime 101, featuring MCU co-star Mark Ruffalo. But questions about Avengers: Doomsday will follow around every cast member, no matter what event they attend.
Chris Hemsworth says #AvengersDoomsday is “incredibly emotional, incredibly powerful. It’s going to blow you away this one. I don’t know how they do it.” pic.twitter.com/5f2pCuBvX5— Variety (@Variety) February 11, 2026
Hemsworth was asked by Variety if there would be waterworks during Thor and Loki’s potential reunion in Doomsday. The actor obviously didn’t give a straight answer to that, but he did comment on what the movie would be like:
It’s incredibly emotional, it’s incredibly powerful, it’s gonna blow you away, this one. I don’t know how they do it. I’ve said this before.
Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of over a decade of storytelling, and for longtime fans, seeing the ultimate sacrifices of Black Widow and Iron Man was a heartbreaking moment. So to think that Doomsday can match that might seem odd, but after Hemsworth’s comments, here’s what we think!
Why Emotional Stakes Will Be Higher in Doomsday Than Endgame?
The MCU has had a bit of a dry run post-Endgame era. Sure, we’ve seen hits like Deadpool & Wolverine, but the overall complaint is that it doesn’t feel like the superhero world that we were once accustomed to.
But the several teasers of Avengers: Doomsday and cast announcements suggest that we’ll be revisiting past characters and narrative threads, even those that weren’t a part of the MCU before. We’ll see the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and more multiversal heroes come together.
It won’t just be about a core group; it will be about the MCU’s shared mythology. Plus, it’s important to note that Endgame had years of consistent buildup, and it took four Avengers movies for the final payoff. So maybe we shouldn’t see Doomsday as the ultimate conclusion and wait for other multi-ensemble films that will follow.
Fan Theories That Connect Endgame and Avengers: Doomsday

Marvel fans come up with some insane theories at times, and here are a few that we found interesting! The first one suggests that Endgame wasn’t the end, but the beginning of a multiversal saga that broke reality, and Avengers: Doomsday is the consequence of the same.
Avengers Doomsday is a direct sequel to Avengers Endgame……i have thought about it for a long time and had this in mind but just hear my theory out !!!!

Another theory suggests that Kang was a decoy villain, while Doctor Doom is the real threat. The user even extends their argument to believing that Kang’s actual mission was to stop Doctor Doom from existing, and he was the last line of defense against RDJ’s big bad!
Some fans also believe that Victor von Doom was created by the snap: he tried to harness the energy, and the explosion disfigured him, leading to the birth of Doctor Doom. Another, more radical theory is that Tony Stark is a variant of Doom.
So, which one of these ideas that connects Endgame to Doomsday resonates with you the most?
Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in theaters on December 18, 2026 (USA).
