The Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer officially confirms a major character is returning to the MCU.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the film arrives in theaters in approximately one year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, will then be released in 2027.
Who returns to the MCU in the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer?
While there have been numerous online leaks in the past week, the first Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer is now playing in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Per Variety, this teaser confirms that Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers in the film.
The footage also shows that Evans’ character is the father of a newborn child, with the video then ending with a “Steve Rogers will return for Avengers: Doomsday” message. More Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailers are expected to be released in the weeks to come.
How big a role Evans will have in Avengers: Doomsday remains to be seen. There have been multiple reports that Steve Rogers will be suiting up as Nomad instead of Captain America, though Marvel has yet to confirm this.
