Avengers: Doomsday has a smart way to include characters like Scarlet Witch, according to a new report.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie will arrive in United States theaters this coming December. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, follows in 2027.
So far, Marvel has released four Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailers. The first teaser revealed that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is returning to the MCU, while the second focused on Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and the third on a handful of X-Men characters. The fourth and final teaser then put the spotlight on Letitia Wright’s Black Panther/Shuri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm/The Thing, and more.
What is the latest Avengers: Doomsday update?
While official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday remain under wraps at this time, a new report suggests the movie will have a smart way to incorporate Scarlet Witch into the film.
When asked if Wanda will officially return in Avengers: Doomsday or if she’s being saved for Avengers: Secret Wars, Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus said, “Let me break it down so there’s no confusion. There is evidence that points to the Scarlet Witch being in Doomsday, but I cannot reveal too much because of my source. The important thing to keep in mind here is that even if you see her in the film, chances are it isn’t Lizzie Olsen, because most of the time they filmed with stunt doubles who don’t speak and are masked with masks that look like the ones from the movie Kingdom of Heaven. Which was a very cheeky way to get to film a lot of characters who ‘aren’t confirmed’ yet but are in the movie, mainly as part of Doom’s followers
“Aside from that, there is something plotwise that Doom does in the movie that has only ever been done in the MCU by two other people up until now, and it points to Wanda being the one who grants him this ability. Lastly, if you really want to find some evidence that Wanda is in this movie, look no further than leaked concept art. Remember to look closely. Crowns come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Blue, Red, Purple, and Green.”
At this time, Elizabeth Olsen’s casting in either Avengers movie has not been announced by Marvel, and there’s been no official confirmation that Wanda will show up in Doomsday or Secret Wars, meaning this is just a rumor that should be taken with a grain of salt at this time.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars is dated for December 17, 2027.
