That’s because they will require four-digit codes that you can find in the same area. IO Interactive made many of these puzzles optional, but you can get collectibles, shortcuts, key items, or additional story information if you do find the code.
If you’d rather skip the detective work, we’ll be covering every safe code, door code, and puzzle solution in 007 First Light in this guide. For your convenience, we’ve listed them in the order you’ll encounter them during the campaign.

Laundry Room Door Code – 1805
The first code puzzle appears in the Carpathian Hotel. While investigating restricted areas, Bond can enter the manager’s office, where a document on the desk contains the laundry room access code.
After getting the clue, head to the laundry room entrance near reception and enter:
Code: 1805
Opening the door allows Bond to continue tracking his target through one of the game’s earliest stealth-focused sections.
Manager’s Office Safe Code – 1952

Also located in the Carpathian Hotel, the manager’s office contains a safe hidden beneath the desk.
A note inside one of the desk drawers references the manager’s favorite wine, the Vino Sacramental. Examining the wine collection reveals the bottle’s vintage year:
Code: 1952
Unlocking the safe rewards players with:
Cellar Key
6 of Roses collectible
Progress toward the Wine Connoisseur challenge

During the Uninvited mission, Bond becomes trapped in a museum courtyard and must find a way out.
To escape, you need to go through a locked maintenance room. The clue can be found on a laptop inside the nearby library, where an email references the current staff access code.
Code: 3256
Opening the maintenance room provides access to useful items, including a keycard and an alternate escape path.
Webb Industries Safe Code – 1493
You’ll need to find the many clues for the code. | Image Credit: IO Interactive
The safe in Sir Nicholas Webb’s office is one of the most elaborate puzzles in the game and is required to progress the story.
A note left by Isola instructs Bond to examine four objects in a specific order:
Diploma
Painting
Game
Model
Each object displays a number:
ObjectNumberDiploma1Painting4Game9Model3
Combining them gives:
Code: 1493
Opening the safe reveals information required to advance the Knightfall mission and obtain Isola’s command code.

Later in the story, Bond returns to MI6’s Q-Lab and must obtain a new service weapon.
The armory door is protected by a keypad. Nearby notes mention that the current code is linked to Waters’ shooting-range record. Checking the leaderboard reveals his score:
Code: 1324
Entering the code grants access to the armory and Bond’s service pistol.
Q-Lab Stress Test Cabinet Code – 4397

While retrieving the Q-Watch in the Q-Lab’s stress testing area, Bond can also unlock a nearby cabinet.
A note explains that cabinet codes are always related to the test subject. Looking into the chamber reveals a vehicle with the license plate:
QLAB 4397
The final four digits provide the answer:
Code: 4397
Rewards include:
Q’s Photo collectible
Battery
Antarctica Archive Door Code – 1864
This comes later in the game. | Image Credit: IO Interactive
The final code puzzle appears in the Webb Industries Antarctica facility during the Wave of the Future mission.
Bond needs access to the archive room to reach the security office and upgrade his identification credentials. You can find the code through clues in a nearby safe or by solving an environmental puzzle involving notes and lockers.
Code: 1864
Opening the archive door reveals a valuable shortcut through the facility and a route to the security office.
As we mentioned, most secret safes and doors in 007 First Light are optional. But they’re often worth solving thanks to the collectibles, shortcuts, and additional lore you can find.
