Elden Ring: 10 Strongest Villains Who Would Be Eldritch Horrors in Berserk, Ranked

Elden Ring and Berserk were practically built from the same nightmare fuel. Hidetaka Miyazaki has openly credited Kentaro Miura’s manga as a lifelong influence, and it shows in every rotting god and false idol scattered across the Lands Between.

But some of these villains go just beyond the “inspired by” tag and become more like avoid at all costs during an Eclipse. These are the ten strongest Elden Ring villains whose scale and horror would make them right at home in Berserk, especially in the Eldritch Horror criteria.

10. Putrescent Knight

Imagine a rider fused to his own decaying steed, wielding twin greatswords made of corpses. The Putrescent Knight is the nightmare of many and looks like something that Guts would stumble upon mid-Eclipse and immediately regret seeing.

His entire aesthetic, including flesh melting into his armor and the armor melting into the mount, is not a pleasant sight to see at all, making it the perfect candidate for a cameo in Berserk.

9. Messmer the Impaler

Messmer commands an entire army of serpents and wields flame hot enough to make anyone flinch. His obsession with his mother, Queen Marika, and his willingness to burn an entire race to prove his devotion feels ripped straight from a God Hand origin story, where obsession can snowball into something so monstrous that it becomes a sight hard to behold.

8. Placidusax

Once a dragon god who ruled his own era before Queen Marika came along and rewrote history around him, Placidusax is less of a boss than a collapsed timeline given a physical body. But he remains a being whose mere existence threatens the current order of the world, making him the perfect fit into Berserk’s cosmology.

7. Astel, Naturalborn of the Void

Astel doesn’t happen to be from the Lands Between at all. It’s an alien intelligence that fell from the stars and now lurks beneath Ranni’s questline like something pulled up from the bottom of the ocean. Its design, including its insect-like limbs and exposed brain matter, wouldn’t need a single change before it is slotted into any of Berserk’s horror arcs.

6. Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy

Rykard willingly fused his body with the God-Devouring Serpent, trading his humanity for the power to consume gods and warriors alike for eternity. That single choice, which was to surrender his own mind and flesh for endless hunger, seems like an idea taken straight out of Miura’s world.

Rykard didn’t need a Behelit; he instead built his own path to monstrosity through sheer blasphemy.

5. Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame

Midra spent centuries locked away, slowly consumed by a fire that burns through sanity itself, until nothing that can be recognised as human is left. The Frenzied Flame, as a concept of an outside force that hollows out its host and replaces their identity with madness, is basically Berserk’s idea of Evil wearing Elden Ring’s outfit. Midra is simply what happens when that infection finally wins.

4. Romina, Saint of the Bud

Romina willingly let scarlet rot consume her entire body to become something closer to a garden than a person, resulting in her lower half being full of flower-flesh. Miura has never been shy about full-body corruption at the price of everything, and Romina’s transformation, which is beautiful and utterly lethal, reads like an apostle who lost the plot somewhere between sainthood and infestation.

3. Malenia, Goddess of Rot

Malenia carries her Scarlet Rot, which is a curse, as both a weapon and an identity. She is a warrior who heals by inflicting a plague that can simply end civilizations, and fights with the confidence of someone who has already decided she cannot lose.

Her character is the exact kind of quiet and unstoppable horror that Miura would have loved writing into Berserk’s supporting cast of monsters.

2. Metyr, Mother of Fingers

Metyr happens to be one of the least-talked-about Elden Ring bosses, but she is still a force to be reckoned with. Moreover, she is barely a character by the time players get to meet her, with her part in the story being the ancient tangle of fingers and roots that birthed the Two Fingers, and indirectly, an entire religion in-game.

She’s less of a boss fight and more of a piece of lore to come by. Berserk has its own tradition of gods that stopped resembling anything human eons ago, and Metyr would fit right into that lineup without needing to change any single thing.

1. The Elden Beast

The final boss of Elden Ring isn’t a person, a demigod, or even a god in any traditional sense; it’s the law of causality given form. The Elden Beast was sent to enforce order on reality itself, and many would claim that’s a step beyond even Berserk’s Idea of Evil, which at least pretends to care about human suffering.

The Elden Beast doesn’t hate the Tarnished. In fact, it doesn’t even know what a Tarnished is, and rather simply exists to correct anything that goes off track from the Greater Will’s plan.

Elden Ring has a lot to offer, from a decaying knight to an entity that many consider the very manifestation of reality itself. Which of these ten do you think would cause the most chaos if they showed up in Berserk’s world? Let us know where you’d rank them.
