The upcoming Batman animated movie featuring the Dark Knight has revealed its first look while teasing a surprise. It will be based on an iconic DC comic book storyline.
What do we see in the first look at the new Batman movie?
Warner Bros. has revealed the first-look poster from the Batman: Knightfall animated movie. It’s going to be the first of a three-part film series.
The teaser poster for Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall has “TOMORROW” written over it. While unconfirmed, this may hint at a trailer release on Tuesday ahead of the film’s world premiere later this week.

Speaking of the three-part Knightfall animated movies, they will be based on DC’s iconic Knightfall comic book storyline. The comic-book storyline was also divided into three parts, titled Knightfall, Knightquest, and KnightsEnd.
The main storyline saw the Caped Crusader face his greatest challenge, Bane, before disappearing after his defeat. With Bruce Wayne out of action, a violent character named Azrael takes up the mantle of Batman before the real one eventually comes back.
As for the animated movie, its synopsis reads, “When the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman’s entire Rogue’s Gallery from Arkham Asylum, the Caped Crusader is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point.”
Interestingly, the upcoming animated movie will be R-rated, given the nature of the comic series it’s based upon, according to Comicbookmovie. Helmed by Jeff Wamester (Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths), the project will bring “to life one of the most iconic and beloved runs in the rich history of Batman comics.”
Fans may remember that elements of this exact comic storyline were used by Christopher Nolan in the live-action Batman movie, 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. In that film, Batman fights Bane but loses badly and goes into hiding before making his heroic return in the end.
As for Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall, it has Rick Morales as the supervising producer. Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau are serving as the producers, with Sam Register and Michael Uslan as the executive producers.
