Director duo Radio Silence‘s upcoming horror movie has a crazy twist. The film, from 20th Century Studios, will be based on a famous children’s gamebook series.
What do we know about Radio Silence’s new horror movie?
Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct the Choose Your Own Adventure movie, based on the iconic and long-running interactive book series of the same name, reports Deadline.
Known for popular films like Ready or Not, Scream VI, and Abigail, Radio Silence will work on a script from Tom Bissell. The WGA Award winner is known for projects like Andor and The Disaster Artist.

At the moment, no details are available regarding the Choose Your Own Adventure movie’s plot. Speaking of the gamebook series, it’s written in the second person, where the reader takes the role of the protagonist while making different choices to determine the plot. The gamebook series was based on a concept originally created by Edward Packard.
The book franchise has influenced some popular shows in the past. Netflix’s Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, which followed the interactive storytelling format inspired by Choose Your Own Adventure gamebooks.
20th Century Studios’ upcoming movie with Radio Silence will be the first major big-screen adaptation based on the books. The director duo’s recent projects include 2026’s Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. The sequel to the 2019 hit predecessor turned out to be a big success as well. It made nearly $43 million worldwide against a budget of $14 million, according to The Numbers. It also fared well with critics and audiences, with a solid 74% on the Tomatometer and 89% on the Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes.
Radio Silence will also get to direct the next Mummy movie, which will see the reunion of Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. It will likely arrive at some point in 2028.
As for the Choose Your Own Adventure movie, it’s yet to receive an official release date window.
