FROM Season 4 Episode 5 delivered a mind-bender that took us on the Long Strange Trip that was promised by the episode name. Jade’s magic mushroom experience took center stage in an effort to unlock hidden memories that span centuries. Episode 5’s ending saw him walk through a short (but actually long) hallway that led to the tunnels where the creatures dwell.
Following the childhood hallucination of himself, he sees the area where the children in white were sacrificed. With a final message of “Angkhooey,” meaning “remember,” Jade wakes up in a flash to find out he never went on any adventure since the mushrooms kicked in. Jade claims to know the answers to the town and how to get out, meaning he has seen the grave of the children and the manner of their death.

Jade’s Hallucinations and Revelations Explained
Jade’s wild mushroom trip filled most of this FROM episode that ended up being mostly inside his head. Filled with hallucinations, the experiences have to be taken with a grain of salt, as some of the biggest mysteries have been revealed.
The sound of violin music, accompanied by a young Jade speaking French, reveals a past in which Jade’s grandmother had died. Following this, he is reintroduced to the one-eyed man from Season 3, who asks him to remember. Drinking the blood out of the skull presented by this man comes with a warning from young Jade that remembering the truth may not be what he wants.
One of the biggest reveals of the episode happens after this at Colony House. We are treated to multiple versions of Jade across the town’s history. Every single version plays the violin while Jade figures out that they were all murdered by the townspeople after they learn about Jade’s story.
History repeats itself over multiple iterations, and young Jade also dishearteningly reveals that Tabitha falls victim to this. We’ve seen this happen to Jade and Tabitha before when people have linked their arrival to the town going haywire.
Jade then walks into Colony House and finds a door leading to the sacrificial chamber of the children. A large stone slab covers a pit filled with bones that are likely to be the children’s. As Jade is buried alive, he wakes up from his trip and theorizes that he knows how to save the town and the children.
From what we’ve seen and gathered so far, there is a high chance that Boyd and a select few will go into the chambers to find the bones of the children to be able to save them. Will this be able to save them, considering the Man in Yellow’s constant intrusion? Let’s look at Tabitha for some more answers.

Tabitha, her son, and a few people have discovered what’s in the lake from the ending of FROM Season 4 Episode 4. As we had suspected, the seaweed contained large doll-like scarecrows. Instantly, Tabitha has flashbacks to her childhood, where she played with miniature versions of their scarecrows.
This flashback further proves Tabitha’s connection to the town, like Jade’s. The two have lived here multiple times throughout history, with every iteration ending the same way. Playing with these dolls induced nightmares in her father, who threw them into the lake.
Theoretically, these dolls might’ve become physical manifestations of nightmares and come to life after. Attacking the group inside their cabin shows that they don’t follow the rule of the talisman in that location.
At the right moment, she remembers that the totems we’ve seen in the forest can be used to hurt these scarecrows. Unfortunately, all this knowledge will come at a cost, as visibly warned by the evil forces in FROM Season 4 Episode 2.
The show has been setting up the town’s distrust of Tabitha repeatedly. After she escapes and comes back, she’s met with backlash for not helping the others. Her visions and connection to the town are used against her by Sophia, spreading the idea of her being bad.
Now that Jade has found out explicitly that they will likely be murdered again, what do you think will happen? Let us know in the comments.
