The Boys is currently just three episodes away from its season 5 finale, which will also be the show’s final episode. As fans anticipate how wild Butcher and Homelander’s clash will get, Amazon has announced that it will release the finale in theaters.

The final episode of The Boys will release one day earlier than its Prime Video drop, on May 19, 2026. The episode will be released in 4DX cinemas, an immersive format that uses motion-controlled seats and other effects to simulate weather. If that’s anything to go by, the finale is going to be a thrilling ride. However, fans will need to act quickly as the theatrical release will be exclusive for one day only.

Participating 4DX theaters across the United States and Canada include Regal Cinemas, AMC Theatres, B&B, Marcus, Cineplex, Cinema West, Cinepolis, and Regency. The finale has been confirmed to be 63 minutes long, so there’s plenty of time to resolve any remaining plot threads.
While the stories of Hughie, Butcher, Annie, Homelander, and Soldier Boy will likely conclude with The Boys, the larger Vought universe will continue to live on in spin-offs like Vought Rising. The final episode is also expected to give some closure to Gen V’s heroes following its cancellation.
