DC Studios‘ latest animated short film has finally been added to HBO Max‘s library, ahead of the highly anticipated theatrical debut of Supergirl. Beginning today, Krypto Saves the Day: Coastal Catastrophe is officially available to stream on HBO Max.
What do we know about DC Studios’ Krypto Saves the Day: Coastal Catastrophe?
Krypto Saves the Day: Coastal Catastrophe serves as the final installment of DC Studios’ 4-part series of animated short films, which started with School Bus Scuffle last August. The new short film features Clark Kent/Superman trying to enjoy a day at the beach with Krypto, who gets into trouble with unexpected foes. It is also set to include a fun cameo from Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.
“Look Pup! Fresh off his star-making performance in Superman, Krypto returns in a series of original comedic animated shorts,” reads the synopsis. “Krypto Saves the Day! brings the caped canine’s brand of heroic hijinks to everyday life in Metropolis. From school bus rescues to Spring Break cruise ship saves — and even Halloween candy crises — no adventure is too small as Krypto delivers super-powered action, laughs, and plenty of mischief for fans of all ages.”
Before Coastal Catastrophe, the studio had first released Halloween Havoc in October and Package Pandemonium in November last year. All four shorts are now available on HBO Max, with the first installment included as one of the special features in Superman‘s home video release. It was a production by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios. Per EW, it has been confirmed that DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation are currently developing the animated short film series’ second installment.
