Lee Sang Bo was reportedly found dead at his home in Pyeongtaek at around 12:40 pm by a family member on March 26, 2026, per reports from the Pyeongtaek Police Station in Gyeonggi Province. According to the reports, there are no criminal suspects so far, and police are currently investigating the circumstances of his death.
Per Wio News, a representative of Korea Management Group (KMG), which was the late actor’s agency, told Maeil Business Newspaper Star Today,
We saw the news and are currently trying to understand the situation.
For those who might not know, the late actor battled with allegations of drug use back in September 2022, which he explained were due to medication he was taking for depression. He was cleared of all charges after formal police investigation, with him later apologizing through a note shared on his social media handle, writing (via Wio News),
Even long-term medication couldn’t calm my mind, so I had a drink, which became the trigger for an unfortunate incident. I will overcome this step by step with the encouragement and support from countless strangers.
After being cleared of the charges, Lee Sang Bo returned to acting with The Elegant Empire (2023). Plus, prior to his death, he had reportedly even signed with a new agency and was preparing for a comeback (via Threads).
