Spider-Man: Brand New Day will have no shortage of villains for the title superhero, with another villain now rumored to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
With four years having passed since 2021’s No Way Home, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will have a “fairly established rogues gallery” now, according to insider Alex Perez, with Tombstone, Scorpion, Tarantula, Boomerang, and the Hand confirmed for the movie, while Rhino, the Jackal, and 8-Ball have also been rumored to appear.
The Hand first appeared in the MCU in Daredevil, before returning in Iron Fist and The Defenders. While fans were led to believe that the ninja organization was destroyed in The Defenders, their inclusion in Brand New Day suggests that they are back and under new leadership.
Who is leading The Hand in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
In The Defenders, it was revealed that the Hand was led by its Five Founders — Alexandra Reid (Sigourney Weaver), Murakami (Yutaka Takeuchi), Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho), Bakuto (Ramón Rodríguez), and Sowande (Babs Olusanmokun) — all of whom were killed by the end of the crossover series.
According to Perez on X, the new leader of the Hand is expected to be the Spider-Queen, a character from the Spider-Man comics who has superhuman strength and mind control powers.

Additionally, scooper The Beyond Reporter shared on X that the scenes in the Brand New Day trailer of Spider-Man fighting the Hand in a prison are part of “a long action sequence” that involves Man-Spider and Punisher.

While The Beyond Scooper makes no mention of Daredevil, fellow scooper MAJESTIC_ucm has claimed that Daredevil is expected to be present for the Hand fight, which makes sense given their shared MCU history.
Destin Daniel Cretton directed Spider-Man: Brand New Day from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The superhero sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
