Spoiler Alert !!!!!The following contains spoilers for The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2!!

In The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 episode 2, titled, Safe, Owen takes his investigation into the Companos a step further after discovering that the syndicate may be using a shipping company called Rafina, which is likely tied to the family.

To prove the connection, he needs documentation from Nicholas’ office in Austin, where the contracts were likely drawn up while Nicholas served as Frank Compano’s lawyer.

Disguised, Owen sneaks into the office and manages to photograph the key documents. However, security alerts an intruder, and Compano’s henchmen are called in to search the building. Despite the close call, Owen escapes without being caught.

He later calls Grady to confirm that he got what he needed, suggesting he may now have the evidence required to link Rafina to the Companos and move forward with exposing them.

Grady Reveals Owens’ Investigation to Hannah

In The Last Thing He Told Me season 2, Grady’s arrival at the restaurant brings more questions than comfort for Hannah (Jennifer Garner) and Bailey. Already shaken by the news of Nicholas’ death, the two are in no state for more revelations, yet Grady has come with a message from Owen, and a complicated one at that.

Grady explains that Owen asked him to keep an eye on them. Bailey is overwhelmed, grieving her grandfather while also struggling with the reality that their lives are once again being uprooted. Even Grady seems caught off guard by Nicholas’ passing, adding to the unease of the moment.

As the conversation unfolds, Grady reveals that Owen never fully trusted the Companos to honor their word after Nicholas died. Acting on those suspicions, Owen has been working behind the scenes to protect his family and build a case against the mob-linked operation.

Initially reluctant to share details, Grady’s hesitation sparks an argument with Bailey, forcing him to admit that Owen has gone undercover at the Houston docks to gather evidence. The revelation lands hard.

Hannah and Bailey are alarmed to learn how much trouble Owen is in and that he’s now operating in Austin. When Hannah pushes to contact him, Grady refuses, insisting they stick to Owen’s plan. The disagreement only escalates after Bailey storms out, leaving Hannah to navigate the tension alone.

Though Grady urges patience, explaining that Owen will meet them once he secures the evidence, Hannah is no longer sure she can wait as she contemplates what she should do next in The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2.

Hannah and Bailey Make a Midnight Escape

In The Last Thing He Told Me season 2 episode 2, Hannah and Bailey find themselves at a breaking point, unsure of who to trust as danger closes in. After their tense discussion with Grady, Bailey suggests a risky alternative: they should come clean to the Companos.

She believes that if they make it clear they have had no contact with Owen, the family might leave them alone. Bailey even proposes reaching out through Quinn, hoping her connection might offer some protection.

Hannah, however, is not convinced. She insists they stay off the radar, wary of every possible threat. Still, Bailey pushes back, trusting Quinn based on their previous encounter. Though Hannah initially resists, her confidence is shaken after a heated confrontation with Grady.

Their argument escalates when Grady spots Hannah on the phone. When she reveals she contacted a US Marshal, Grady reacts strongly, warning her about a potential mole within the system. His intensity raises more suspicion than reassurance. When Hannah asks him to call Owen, he refuses.

The situation nearly spirals out of control when a biker intervenes, mistaking Hannah for someone in trouble. Although she diffuses the moment, the danger lingers as the biker later alerts others that they have found the two women.

The confrontation with Grady was the final push Hannah needed. In the middle of the night, she wakes Bailey and insists they cannot trust Grady. The two quietly pack up and flee the motel, leaving just minutes before unknown men arrive looking for them.

With nowhere else to go, Hannah and Bailey spend the night in their car by the beach, while cautiously planning their next move.

Did Quinn Agree to Help Hannah and Bailey?

After losing all her faith in her father, Bailey suggests that they turn to Quinn for help in The Last Thing He Told Me, Season 2, episode 2. To her, Owen is a man defined by secrets and lies. He hid the truth about her identity, misled her about her mother, and forced her into a life on the run. Bailey is no longer willing to blindly follow a plan built on more uncertainty.

Jenniifer Garner’s Hannah, however, sees things differently. While she is angry at Owen, she hasn’t given up on him. She believes his actions, however questionable, were driven by necessity rather than choice. Coming from her own experience of abandonment, Hannah recognizes a key difference her mother chose to leave, but Owen may not have had that luxury. This divide creates tension between them, especially when Bailey pushes to approach Quinn.

And Quinn does have a good relationship with her father, as her conversation in The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2, episode 2 reveals. Quinn talks to her father about Nicholas. When he asks her if she will be joining him for his birthday, she says she can’t as she would be in Paris. But Frank moves his birthday plans to Paris to spend time with his daughter.

Meanwhile, Bailey argues that running won’t solve anything. She wants to reclaim her life in Los Angeles and believes Quinn, Frank’s daughter, might be the only person who can help them do that safely. Hannah is hesitant but ultimately allows Bailey to follow her instincts. The two meet Quinn at a coffee shop.

Quinn is initially resistant. She makes it clear she doesn’t want to be involved. But Bailey’s persistence gets her to listen. What follows is not exactly the help they hoped for. Quinn lays out a harsh reality: if Hannah and Bailey want to stay in LA and live normal lives, they must completely cut ties with Owen. If they don’t, her family will not hesitate to retaliate. Owen has crossed them, and the consequences are unavoidable.

Still, Quinn doesn’t shut the door entirely. She agrees to pass along a message and advises them to go somewhere off the grid where they can’t be found.

Later, Quinn reaches out to her brother Teddy. Their conversation reveals tension within the family. Teddy seems suspicious and probing, especially when asking about Bailey’s whereabouts. Quinn, however, refuses to reveal anything and makes it clear she doesn’t want Hannah and Bailey harmed. Even as Teddy hints that their father Frank knows more than he lets on, Quinn pushes back.

So, did Quinn agree to help Hannah and Bailey? Not in the way they hoped. She doesn’t offer safety or direct protection, but she does intervene in her own way, delivering a message, setting boundaries, and quietly attempting to keep them out of harm’s reach.

Where Are Hannah and Bailey Headed Next?

After their tense meeting with Quinn in The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2, Hannah makes a decisive choice, following the advice to disappear and stick to the plan of staying on the run. Bailey, still unsure about everything, presses Hannah for answers about where they could possibly go next.

Hannah finally reveals that they are heading to her mother’s house. The admission opens up a deeply personal part of Hannah’s past. She explains that her mother left her when she was just five years old, choosing a more glamorous life over raising her.

Hannah was left in the care of her grandfather, and their relationship has remained strained ever since. Although she revealed that her mother did try to reconnect after her father passed away, there is no guarantee that her mother will welcome her now.

Despite the uncertainty, Hannah believes they have no other option. With danger closing in and few safe places left, even an unreliable refuge is better than none. Bailey, though hesitant, has little choice but to trust Hannah’s judgment as they continue their journey.

As they make their way, another complication quietly unfolds. Owen is seen tracking them using a hidden device he slipped into Hannah’s locket without her knowledge. This raises serious questions about whether their attempt to stay hidden will succeed, especially after Quinn warned them not to reveal their location to anyone.

With emotions running high and risks mounting, their next destination may offer answers or create even more conflict. What do you think will happen next in The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2?
