American singer and songwriter Miley Cyrus recently got the opportunity to create the end-credits song, Dream As One, for director James Cameron’s latest blockbuster hit, Avatar: Fire and Ash. Not just that, as Cyrus also appeared in the music video (see below), leaving fans wondering if she would make a proper acting comeback anytime soon.

In a recent interview with Variety, the singer called it the “biggest gig” of her life, further teasing that she might make an acting comeback if “someone has the right script.”

Dream As One also saw strong fan response, with the track being voted a fan favourite on Billboard during its release week. It appears alongside the film’s orchestral score by Simon Franglen, becoming part of the overall musical identity of the film.

While working on Avatar: Fire and Ash, Cyrus collaborated closely with director James Cameron on Dream as One, an original song written specifically for the film. Cyrus revealed that many of their phone conversations went beyond music and focused on broader themes explored in Avatar, including life, death, and human relationships. She said:

In Avatar we talk about life, death and relationships,

Those discussions reminded her of the guidance she has received from longtime mentor Dolly Parton. She added:

He reminds me a lot of my mentors, he’s kind of a Dolly. What she is in music, he’s in cinema. He’s kind of a godfather.

According to Cyrus, Cameron’s perspective as a storyteller directly influenced how the song was written, shaping both its emotional tone and its connection to the film’s narrative.

In the same interview, Cyrus also provided an update on her plans for Hannah Montana’s 20th anniversary. When asked how that project is coming along, the singer replied:

Absolutely, we’re working hard on them.

As expected, Cyrus didn’t reveal much about the project but did point out her bangs, indicating that she is almost ready to make a comeback as her iconic character.

Cyrus was an established child actress long before her singing career took off, and this is only because of her role as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana in the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana. As her music career took off, Cyrus slowly put her acting career on a backburner.
