The recently released Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 is now the most-watched show on the streaming platform, Netflix. This comes just a few days ahead of Volume 2’s release. Created by the Duffer Brothers, the series features a massive cast that includes Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Noah Schnapp, and many more.
Stranger Things Season 5 breaks all-time streaming record
Stranger Things 5 Volume 1 has broken all-time streaming records on Netflix and become the most-watched show based on recent figures.
According to a report by Nielsen, the figures state that Volume 1 was watched for 8.46 billion minutes during the first week of its debut. Moreover, this is the biggest viewing duration for a show in its first week. Season 4 of Stranger Things previously held the record, clocking in 7.2 billion viewing minutes following its premiere.
While viewing totals are not segregated based on seasons, Nielsen did confirm that 57% of the show’s total viewing minutes were contributed to by Season 5 Volume 1 episodes.
Stranger Things Fans are now gearing up for the release of Volume 2, which will arrive on Christmas Day. While Volume 1 had 4 episodes, Volume 2 is going to have 3 episodes. They are titled, Chapter 5: Shock Jock, Chapter 6: Escape From Camazotz, and Chapter 7: The Bridge.
Teasing about the upcoming episodes on Instagram, co-creator Ross Duffer said, ” Chapters Five, Six and Seven: locked, mixed, scored, colored… Volume Two is DONE. “Shock Jock” picks up moments after the end of “Sorcerer”. Frank Darabont is back, but he flexes very different muscles on this one than he did on “Turnbow Trap”— it’s far darker, and far scarier. “Escape from Camazotz” is Shawn Levy’s return to the director’s chair. It’s the biggest episode of the three— and the performances make us cry every time we watch it. “The Bridge”… we co-directed this one with Shawn. Don’t want to say too much, but aside from the finale, it’s probably the most emotional chapter of the season.”
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated Stranger Things Volume 3, which will serve as the series finale, drops on November 31, 2025.
