Former Nickelodeon star Tylor Chase, who played the regular side character Martin Qwerly in Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide from 2004 to 2007, recently went viral when he was spotted homeless on California streets by some fans. The star looked unrecognizable in the viral clip, clad in ripped jeans and a grey T-shirt (see X).

Prior to this, in September 2025, influencer LetHallAlli also spotted him in Los Angeles and posted the encounter on TikTok. This news reached his former co-stars Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Lindsey Shaw as well, who host a podcast together where they talk about their lives during and after the Nickelodeon show.

In an episode of their podcast, they even acknowledged Chase’s situation, with Curtis Lee referring to him as a “dear friend” while expressing how “powerless” he felt about it all. He said (via The Tab):

It was a lot to process for me. When I first saw it, I was angry, because I was like why put a camera in someone’s face when they are on hard times? I feel powerless, I feel like there’s not much I can do.

With these clips of Tylor Chase making rounds on the internet, now even netizens can’t help but once again raise concerns about the treatment of child actors like Chase, as well as the lack of long-term care in the entertainment industry.

What Did Tylor Chase’s Former Co-Stars Have to Say About Him?

After clips showing Tylor Chase went viral and reached his former Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide co-stars, he was a topic of avid discussion on their podcast. Lindsey Shaw, for one, opened up about her past struggles with drug addiction, with the trio talking about how hard it is to help people in a vulnerable place. Shaw said,

I’ve been somebody like that.

Shaw even shared how she wants to see Chase with Daniel as soon as possible. Devon Werkheiser, in the meantime, talked about the influencer who tried to help Chase out, saying,

I saw the girl who kinda started the whole Tylor Chase thing. They got him, like, kinda showered and gave him some clothes. She seems like a good person out there, just trying to offer help to a lost soul.

Plus, he and Daniel Curtis Lee also promised to help get their old friend back to his feet in whatever way they can help, though they also made it clear that Chase won’t be joining their podcast anytime soon. Curtis Lee said,

Yeah, we’re all hoping we can get Tylor on a better path. We’ll see what we can do here. But he’s not coming on the podcast. That’s not at all what needs to happen here. There’s a lot more that needs to happen before that.

While that’s that, it’s worth noting that influencer LetHallAlli tried to put up a GoFundMe page for him as well, until Chase’s own mother reportedly reached out and explained to her the risks of the same.

Tylor Chase’s Mom Said He “Can’t manage money or meds by himself”

As it turns out, after the video of him going around homeless went viral in September 2025, LetHallAlli set up a GoFundMe fundraiser page to help Tylor Chase. Soon after, she reportedly contacted the influencer, saying that offering him financial aid without guidance could be seriously risky. She reportedly said (via Bored Panda),

Yes, Tylor needs medical attention, not money. But he refuses it. I appreciate your effort. But money would not be a benefit to him. I have gotten him several phones, but he loses them within a day or two. He can’t manage money or his meds by himself.

Besides, Chase also previously openly discussed struggling with bipolar disorder, as reported by Bored Panda. So helping him financially, like his mother reportedly said, might not have been the best option, after all.
