The episode also indicates that Guita can grow much larger, and it’s Bundus who tells her which size she should limit herself to. It might be possible for Guita to even battle a kaiju trash beast all by herself, though she is only a child, which means Bundus would most probably protect her from getting into harmful battles.
The Watchman Makes a Chilling Entrance
Gachiakuta episode 22 reveals The Watchman for the first time, and its appearance is terrifying. Just as Noerde is sucked out of the giant Trash Beast, she witnesses the border as well as The Watchman, a mysterious giant who guards the border. Noerde notes that if anyone goes beyond the border, their most cherished things are taken away.
At the same time, the episode establishes that Noerde might have been killed by The Watchman. This is the first onscreen death after Regto, and it increases the stakes of the anime. So far, the anime seemed to be holding back against character deaths, but Noerde’s tragic fate changes the game entirely.
Now that Noerde is no longer in the equation, all the other characters might have also lost their plot armor. This might be a beneficial development since Gachiakuta’s reluctance to kill off characters cheapens the plot and the stakes involved.
