The Batman 2 has added a huge MCU star to the cast of the DC movie.

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Batman 2, also known as The Batman Part II, is scheduled to arrive in 2027. Directed by Matt Reeves, the sequel to 2023’s The Batman will see Robert Pattinson reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Who has joined the cast of The Batman 2?

According to Nexus Point News, which has been reliable in breaking stories, Scarlett Johansson is in talks to join the cast of The Batman Part II.

Official character details are being kept under wraps at this time; however, the outlet notes that Johansson’s role “may be a new love interest to Bruce Wayne.” The article also states, “Potential characters that Johannson could be portraying are Andrea Beaumont/The Phantasm, Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy, Vicki Vale, or Julie Madison.”

Plot details for The Batman 2 are being kept heavily under wraps at DC Studios at this time, meaning fans will likely have to wait a bit longer for official confirmation regarding who Johansson is playing in the movie.

Elsewhere in the article, Nexus Point News says that Zoe Kravitz is not expected to reprise her role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the film. The InSneider’s Jeff Sneider previously reported that she won’t be in the movie and “doesn’t know anything” about The Batman 2.

Johansson is best known for playing Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the last couple of years, she has starred in projects such as 2023’s Asteroid City, 2024’s Fly Me to the Moon, 2025’s The Phoenician Scheme, and 2025’s Jurassic World Rebirth. She’s expected to reprise her role in a Jurassic World Rebirth sequel, while it was also recently announced that she’s been cast in Mike Flanagan’s new Exorcist movie.

Production on The Batman 2 begins next year. The movie currently has an October 1, 2027, release date.
