The Bloodline remains one of the most consequential storylines in the WWE during the modern era. Roman Reigns was the chief protagonist of the emphatic era, and the time saw the rise and dominance of the former Universal Champion as the Tribal Chief and Head of the Table.
However, just when fans thought that The Bloodline was a thing of the past, WWE, under Triple H, carved out a major development that could potentially trigger its resurgence. According to a report from Fightful, WWE filed a trademark on ‘Tribal Heir’ on November 6th, sparking rumors of its potential use in the near future.

Solo Sikoa’s ascent as Roman Reigns’ official successor, which signified a significant shift in The Bloodline’s mythology, is at the heart of the WWE “Tribal Heir” legacy.
A formal transfer of power within the Anoa’i dynasty was marked when Roman Reigns himself bestowed the title “Tribal Heir” upon Solo Sikoa during the December 15, 2023, edition of Friday Night SmackDown (via WWE).
Not only was this event symbolic, but it also changed the dynamics of the faction, causing internal strife with Jimmy Uso and paving the way for Sikoa’s eventual rise to power.
Following Reigns’ hiatus after WrestleMania 40, Sikoa assumed control of The Bloodline, rebranding the group with new members like Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga.
The recent move from WWE suggests long-term intentions to solidify Sikoa’s place in both narrative and branding. The “Tribal Heir” identity serves as a link between the faction’s future under Sikoa’s leadership and Roman Reigns’ hegemonic reign as the Bloodline saga develops.

The rift between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa has a storied history. Sikoa’s authority over The Bloodline grew more powerful in Reigns’ absence from WWE programming. The rift reached its peak during the Tribal Combat on the debut Netflix episode of WWE RAW, where Reigns and Sikoa clashed in a Tribal Combat match to determine who truly controlled The Bloodline.
Ultimately, Roman Reigns won the match, and The Rock ceremonially placed the Ula Fala around Reigns’ neck, reaffirming his status as Tribal Chief. The development marked the sidelining of Sikoa for the time being, but the company could resurface the storyline clash between him and Reigns.

Sikoa has returned to WWE programming with a new faction: the MFT. Currently featuring regularly on SmackDown, Solo Sikoa and his MFTs have managed to stir major developments in the existing dynamics of the blue brand and are steadily consolidating in power. In such a situation, they could clash with the old guard of the legendary Anoa’i family: Roman Reigns and The Usos.
With the trademark of the term Tribal Heir, WWE has established the potential use and legacy of the term. However, it remains to be seen whether the company plans to use it in any capacity for a storyline clash between Reigns and Sikoa.
