According to a recent report, a fan-favorite MCU character will be appearing in Spider-Man 4.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is currently in production. Directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie will see Tom Holland once again reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Who is reportedly appearing in Spider-Man 4?
Following numerous rumors that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil will be appearing in Spider-Man 4 in some capacity, Nuke the Fridge is now reporting that he will indeed have a role to play in the Marvel movie.
There has been no official confirmation regarding Cox being in Brand New Day, meaning this should be treated only as a rumor at this time.
It would, however, make some amount of sense, given that Cox did appear in a brief scene featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was released in 2021. Additionally, Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/Punisher has been confirmed for Spider-Man 4. Given the history that Punisher and Daredevil have with one another in the MCU, seeing Daredevil show up in Brand New Day should hardly come as a surprise.
Official plot details for Spider-Man 4 remain under wraps at this time.
The cast of the movie also includes Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone. Additionally, Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink, The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas, and Severance’s Tramell Tillman have all been cast in undisclosed roles.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in United States theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Avengers: Doomsday follows that on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars is dated for December 17, 2027.
